Heartsaver First Aid, The Heartsaver First Aid course teaches how to manage illness and injuries in the first few minutes until professional help arrives. Course content includes general principles, medical emergencies, and injury emergencies. Optional topics include CPR and AED, and environmental emergencies. For those who have a duty to respond to a first aid or cardiac emergency because of job responsibilities or regulatory requirements. Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid, The Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid course teaches how to manage illness and injuries in a child in the first few minutes until professional help arrives. Topics include first aid basics, medical emergencies, injury emergencies, environmental emergencies, optional first aid topics, and CPR and AED. For those involved in child care who have a duty to respond to a first aid emergency because of job responsibilities of regulatory requirements, such as child care workers, teachers, foster care workers, camp counselors, youth organizations, and coaches for children's sports organizations. Family & Friends CPR, teaches how to perform CPR on adults, children, or infants and how to help an adult, child or infant who is choking. Family members, friends and members of the general community who want to learn CPR, but do not need a course completion card. This course also can be a non-credentialed option for middle and high-school students.
Family & Friends First Aid for Children, is for those caring for infants and children, such as family members, babysitters, and others providing in-home care, who want basic first aid information, but who do not need a credentialed completion card. This program teaches how to manage illness and injuries to a child for the first few minutes until professional help arrives. This program covers such topics as preventing injuries, recognizing and treating basic first aid emergencies, and relief of choking in infants and children.
